The Role of Data in Achieving ESG Goals
Corporate and government interest and support for sustainability and “ESG” related policies (Environmental Social and Governance) is growing across all segments of the CRE industry. ESG metrics are increasingly seen by shareholders as an indicator of a company’s future success and are now a core component of most annual reports by public companies. Key elements of the “E” portion include energy efficiency initiatives, and Greenhouse Gas Emission tracking and reporting.. Effective utilization of data is a core requirement in measuring performance and meeting ESG goals.
Analytics is the tool to derive value from data – that could be data from one sensor or 1 million. The principles are the same. The differences are the goals and needs of the customer. Where are they on their data journey? What will deliver value for them. We cannot expect or force all clients to be at the same point in the data journey.
Significant value can be generated from small amounts of data that are easily acquired. This presentation will show how organizations can get started in their data journey to meet ESG goals, generate financial value and transition to data-driven facilities.
