The Story of State vs. City: Building Code Changes
The state of Pennsylvania sets the building codes for any building in the State. Philadelphia's decarbonization goals will require new buildings to have more aggressive building codes than the State has set. Philadelphia set out to lobby to the State to get an exception so that the City could set its own code. This is the story of State vs. City.
Mardi is currently a Sustainability Coordinating Manager with the consulting firm Circadia Group. She is assisting higher education institutions to achieve their sustainability goals through renewable energy purchasing strategies, behavior modification programing, data analysis, and market/ policy research. She is proud to have recieved AEE's 2017 award for Energy Professional Development for the Northeast USA.
