Data-Driven Energy Management: Turning Utility & Carbon Insights into Savings and Sustainability

Track B: Data Analytics & Energy Services

Session B2: Measuring, Monitoring, and Analyzing Energy Data

Day 2  9:00 am

Speaker(s):

Abstract:

By implementing energy management software, AFL has automated the management of nearly two-hundred utility accounts, which has enabled $304,000 in anticipated annual energy and utility cost savings and substantial environmental gains.Energy and utility data are at the heart of effective energy management, driving smarter decision-making, cost savings, and sustainability initiatives. However, without the right technology and strategies, organizations struggle to make sense of their data, prove ROI, and align with carbon reduction goals.

This session will provide a foundational understanding of how to leverage technology (beyond spreadsheets) for energy and utility data management. We’ll explore best practices for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on real-time energy use, utility bills, and carbon emissions. Attendees will learn how to use data-driven insights to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and meet sustainability targets.

Whether you’re new to energy data management or looking to refine your approach, this session will equip you with the essential knowledge to optimize operations and make a stronger business case for energy and carbon initiatives.
