Abstract:
Some commercial and industrial energy efficiency building controls projects require months of trend data collection before and after implementation to substantiate the energy savings claimed by energy efficiency program administrators. Further complicating these projects are the myriad building controls products comprising the market and the variety of methods used to determine the energy savings for each product.
The Sponsors of Mass Save® have developed a prescriptive approach to claimable building controls savings, wherein reputable industry, past projects, and other data analytics are leveraged to standardize a statewide energy savings approach. This approach simplifies and streamlines project throughput while minimizing the need for lengthy site-specific data collection and individual analysis.
This prescriptive approach to building control energy savings outcomes has driven improved staff, vendor and customer confidence in repeatable program savings outcomes and has allowed for streamlined post-implementation monitoring and verification.
