Track D: Empowering Energy Innovations
Session D3: Resilient & Reliable Energy Systems
June 26, 2025 | 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Strategies for Grid Reliability, Cost Savings, and Market Participation
As grid constraints intensify and energy prices become more volatile, energy flexibility is emerging as a critical operational strategy. This session explores how large energy users can embed flexibility into facility operations to reduce peak demand, lower energy costs, and support grid reliability. Energy engineers will learn how to deploy battery storage systems, participate in demand response markets, and apply predictive analytics to align consumption with grid signals. The session will detail how to optimize energy procurement and reduce exposure to peak pricing through strategic curtailment and load shifting. Attendees will gain insight into monetizing energy flexibility through ISO programs and other market mechanisms. By designing for flexible operations, facilities can not only enhance resilience and financial performance but also play a key role in a cleaner, more efficient grid. This session offers practical strategies and technical considerations for capitalizing on emerging opportunities in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
