Session D1: Artificial Intelligence in Energy Management

June 25, 2025 | 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Intelligent Graphical HVAC Analysis

This presentation will explain and demonstrate the power of analyzing HVAC systems through graphics and charting. It will explain how these methods can increase customer understanding of their systems, and improve reliability, efficiency and resilience. Multiple demonstrations of how charting, and other graphic presentations of HVAC operational data will be included, showing how this can be an effective tool for trouble-shooting problems and identifying areas for improvement. WE will explain how the data collection and charting process can include conventional fault detection diagnostics along with the use of AI in data analysis system optimization.
Foundations of this process include identification and collection of data, especially is an AI model needs to recognize data points and learn patterns in the data. The importance of specifying proper trending and a clear nomenclature for data points is explained. This presentation will include a proposed system for the groundwork of documenting relevant HVAC systems and sequence of operations, along with listing out controls points required. Examples showing problems found and solved, and assessment of HVAC and building performance, will be included.
